Your clinician can suggest that you see a healthcare professional in person based on the information they have about your health. You won't be billed for your visit if that occurs. At present time, Optum Health Clinic is not intended for users of government payor programmes, such as Medicare and Medicaid, and does not accept insurance.
Do I need to receive this treatment?
This visit may be right for you if:
• Have had less than three sinus infections in the previous 12 months.
• You don't have a severe cough, ear pain, or trouble hearing.
• You haven't finished taking antibiotics for the entire duration of your sinus infection.
• The duration of your symptoms is less than a month.
The most effective treatment for sinusitis, or sinus inflammation, varies depending on the underlying cause of the infection. Antibiotics cannot treat viruses, which are the cause of almost all sinus infections. If your sinus infection is found to be bacterial, your clinician might recommend antibiotics. It might be too soon to determine what's causing the inflammation if you've had sinusitis symptoms (such as sinus headache, face pressure, and nasal congestion) for less than a week. Your doctor might then advise over-the-counter medications while taking a "wait and see" stance. In the event that your symptoms do not get better, you may need to take antibiotics.
At this time, Optum Clinic Clinic does not accept health insurance for visits. You can submit a claim to your insurance provider for reimbursement, but we can’t guarantee they’ll reimburse you. If you typically pay for your prescription drugs with insurance, you can do the same with those that are prescribed by Optum Clinic. The cost of medication isn’t included in the cost of your visit.
Optum Clinic protects your health information by strictly following the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
